Dream Diary 2 — Town Edition: Scarlett, わかば, Termina

To explain the title a bit, in my head there are various different genres of towns, and one of my favorites is just a plain old, regular, cozy AC town. Still developed and creative and whatnot, mind you, just not an elaborately fancy theme beyond a cozy Animal Crossing village. I really like towns like this, and it’s the sort of ‘theme’ I want my side town Bywater to have one day. That’s the edition of today’s dream diary, and it’s probably an edition that will return in the future.

Scarlett

Dream Address: 4600-2362-5644
Owner: stitchesnstones on tumblr!

This town is soo beautiful and inspiring! There are lots of different spots of interest, and pretty much all the space in town is put to use. I hope you’ll enjoy visiting it as much as I did!

Some interesting touches on the side of this path. Are they little gems, or lights?

Pretty pond area 🙂

Woww I’d love to see this beautiful town hall entrance in a sunset!

On the right side of town there’s a natural/zen area that transitions into a camping spot. It’s really calming and well-done with all the white flowers and narrow stone paths. 🙂

Saying hi to Marshal at the bonfire ^^

Goodness, this is an adorable playground area 😮

Below the playground there’s a bench spot by the river where you can cozy up and read a book 🙂

A pretty picnic spot by the waterfall!

One of my favorite spots in Scarlett is the ‘rainbow’ of fruit trees lining the dirt path, with a view of the windmill and wooden bridge in the distance.

Tehe, this house exterior looks familiar! ❤

It’s Melba’s! Hey dream-Melba 😀

>I woudn’t consider the house interiors to be the main attraction of this town compared to the absolutely stunning landscaping, but they’re worth a look if you have the time. I love when rooms have lots of knick-knacks like this; it feels cozy and personal, like a real house.

わかば (Wakaba)

Dream Address: 3B00-001A-3F2C
Owner: Rystener

I first visited this town early on in my game, after I’d seen a post sharing about it on tumblr, and I didn’t think to save the address in any way other than having it in my tumblr ‘likes.’ Months ago I remembered this town after looking back on some old pictures I took from my first visit, and I’ve been hoping to find it again ever since:

But I looked through all my tumblr likes and couldn’t find it anywhere! D: I went on a huge hunt for it recently, asking around on AC forums, googling the pictures I took of the town, googling keywords, googling for dream addresses that were posted in a date-specified time period on tumblr, and so on. I was beginning to lose hope of finding this town again, but then it occurred to me that browsing pinkseacrossing‘s own dream diary might be a good place to look, since it has lots of little-known (to me, anyway) Japanese dream town addresses. And that’s how I re-found this lovely dream town! :’)

Wakaba town has been updated since I first visited, and has new paths (which I must admit I don’t like quite as much as the old ones) and is now set in Autumn during a beautiful fiery sunset. My heart burst with joy when I saw it was indeed the same town with many of the same spots I remembered:

Like this perfect park with a flower clock at its center, complete with matching flowers and fruit trees around the clock, and an extremely well-done dirt path adorned with little stepping stones.

This path to the cottage is very similar to how I remembered it too, but now has peach trees lining the path instead of cherry trees. 🙂 I like how the alternating pink-and-golden peaches match the sunset.

I think I kind of vaguely remembered this striking rose garden in front of the town tree as well, but mostly everything else in town seemed new and fresh to me (except for maybe a small deja vu-like feeling).

Love all the colorful tulips around this cute riverside picnic area 🙂

Streetlamps lighting the path, and a pretty pansy garden.

And a lovely rose garden! I like how this person showcases pretty much all the different flowers in their town (rather than me for example; I choose to mostly use lilies and violets).

And the sunset colors in the gardens here reallyy appeal to me *_* I feel like we have similar tastes/styles in AC garden-arranging, often using gradients and complex patterns.

One of Wakaba’s beaches is particularly stunning, featuring a gradient of practically all the flowers in the game:

It’s really fun to run along this path and admire the gradient — I encourage you to visit and try it yourself! 😀

And on the other beach there’s a pretty view of the windmill on the cliff!

The house interiors of Wakaba are very well-done too, so I encourage you to check them out if you visit! This Autumn garden room is perhaps my favorite ^^

This room seemed to me to have the purpose of showcasing villager pics, and it did a very good job at that, without being completely filled with only villager pics. I like how the colorful furniture compliments the portraits.

Ahh, this vibrant flowery room is beautiful! And there are quite a few more great rooms that I’ll resist sharing so you can go see them for the first time yourself 😀

Termina

Dream Address: 4000-4033-6656
Owner: User LinDUNguin on TBT

I stumbled across this dream town when its owner posted a thread on TBT asking for advice/criticism on their town, and I was so impressed that I didn’t have a lot of advice to give, and I’ve saved the address & visited it a few times since 🙂

Normally I wouldn’t bother to share a town’s map, but I think sharing Termina’s is important in seeing how impressive the town is. It’s structured really well, with the town tree in the very middle of town, with practically everything else branching from the town tree. If you go north from the town tree, you’ll come to the park in front of the train station. If you go west, you’ll come to a bridge that leads to the orchard and ‘theater.’ If you go east, you’ll come to a path that leads to the cafe and police station, and to another bridge that leads to Retail and the campsite. And if you go south, you’ll come to the third bridge that leads to a little residential area, the town hall, the beach, etc. This map with a U-shaped river with the town tree in the middle was pretty popular and sought after at one time (now I think straight rivers are more popular), but I’ve never seen it so well utilized and structured as this, that I know of. So I think this is a great town to go to if you want inspiration on how to give structure to your town if you have a centered town tree 🙂

This is the park in front of the train station, if you go straight north of the town tree. I love how neat and symmetric it is, and it’s such a nice entrance to the station 🙂

Lemme gush a bit how much I looove these brick-and-clover side paths:

And I’m jealous of these two ponds so close together, what a cute feature ^_^

I also want to gush a bit more about a particular spot with a gradient of roses, which I have quite a few pictures of:

Ahh it’s so pretty ;_;

Another spot I love is Henry’s house (heh, I recognize it ’cause he was in my town once) with the wisteria trellis and colorful roses! 🙂

Stitches’ colorful house + colorful pansies + the unusual boot PWP is a very cool combination, who’d’ve thought of it!

The brick-edged flowerbed matches so well with brick paths!

But I have something to break to you, those paths are no longer in this town xP

I miss the brown brick paths because I thought they fit so well with the town atmosphere and the brick bridges and all, and I’m a sucker for brown brick paths in general, they seem so cozy! But these new paths are great too, don’t get me wrong! 🙂 (And hey I can relate, I wonder if people visit my current dream town and think “hmm, I liked the snow and fairytale paths better” xD It’s all just personal preference)

This is the path to the cafe and police station I mentioned earlier!

And this is Termina’s orchard, sooo cute

The town theater — it’s great when people make use of signs 🙂 I’m too PWP-limit-conscious to make use of them much, but they’re nice touches.

The wonderful campsite in Termina, with another helpful sign. The extra grasswear in this area is a nice detail!

And lastly (though I’m resisting the urge to post even more screenshots), this playground area is adorable, just like the one in Scarlett earlier ^_^

I’m in love with these towns and with the cozy & quaint AC town aesthetic in general, so I hope you will enjoy visiting these towns as much as I have! 🙂 Here’s a little index:

  1. Hi Amy!! Oh my goodness these towns are so gorgeous!! I absolutely love the idea of having a flower gradient along the beach, it must be pretty hard work! And that adorable playground area is so cute!! The vibrant green grass and all the beautiful colors almost makes the town look neon! 😛
I love it when town dreams are set at a certain point of the day, or with a rainbow or such! The weather definitely makes a huge different!!

I’ve been wanting too update on Lilycott but I have soooooo many pictures I just don’t know which ones to share, and honestly I’m a bit too lazy to post them all 😦
But I’m still playing!! Pinky promise! 😀 I visited your updated dream address and fell sooo in love with Fern’s house! Holy moly! It felt extremely cozy and made Jemma want to stay there for a night (or two!) And your town looks gorgeous, as always! I loved the moon details around town, like that mosaic moon pattern *.* So fitting for your town name!

    • Hey Jemma! 😀 Aw yay, glad you like them! Yeah, just think of allll those different flowers 😮 I admit, the only thing I’m unsure about with the beach gradient is the inclusion of black flowers, since they kinda clash a bit with the other colors imo. It’s still really pretty though, and so fun to run through! 🙂 Yeah, I know what you mean about Scarlett looking neon with all those bright flowers and PWPs, and I think the bright blue sky and cherry blossoms help with that vibrant effect too! Considering weather conditions is important; my dream town wouldn’t look half as good without some pretty lighting conditions helping it out, lol. Thank you so much for visiting my dream! I’m really glad you liked it, and Fern’s house and all! I was unsure how people would like it since it’s very different (more rustic) than my other character homes. I’m glad you like the new patterns too, thanks! ^__^
      .
Aww, and I can’t express how happy I am to hear from you again! x3 I’ve missed you and your updates on Lilycott!! I look forward to your town maybe getting a dream address one day so I can visit whenever I want ^^ I’m really glad to hear you’re still playing and still thinking about posting sometime when you’ve got the time! But I understand all the pictures piling up can be daunting, and that things getting busy irl doesn’t help either!

  2. These towns are so cozy and cute ❤ I will have to visit them next time I am home with my wifi! I love these new dream diary posts you are doing! My list of dream towns to visit is growing exponentially! Of course, I always forget to take pictures when I'm in dream towns because I am so engulfed in them! I'm hoping to get my dream town ready within the next few months but it's a slow process (especially when villagers won't suggest the PWPs I want)! I hope it will be soon though! 😀

    • I’m glad you like the towns, and thank you for the encouragement about my dream diary posts, I appreciate it ^__^ I enjoy getting to gush about dream towns I admire, and hope others will find new towns to visit and to get inspiration from. Hehe, I take more pictures than I used to while dreaming, now that I have this dream diary going. And I take more care with the pictures too, making sure I’m wearing an outfit other than pajamas (if it’s provided) and that the angle’s good, etc. I really look forward to your dream update, can’t wait to visit and see what’s new! 🙂

  3. Wow, I love these dream towns, they’re great inspiration! Especially Termina, the campsite area is quite lovely ^^ The grass wear was utilized well 🙂 I actually found a path that I wanted to use in my town on Pinterest, but unfortunately there was no QR code or dream address in their post 😦 But now I know the town that has this path is Scarlett, and I can visit it thanks to you ^.^

      • I’m glad you like them! Termina is such a nice town and I’m really thankful I stumbled across it (since it wasn’t the usual way I find dream towns, popular DAs coming through my tumblr dashboard). Ohh and that must be frustrating 😦 Hope you can find the QRs, since I don’t know if stitchesnstones made those paths. I’ve found QR codes for a dark gray version of that path, but not the brown version.
Thanks for the suggestion, a palace tile themed path would be interesting! 🙂 Though I mostly just didn’t like it when it had colors like this, and liked it much better once I adjusted the colors to become this, so I plan to continue with this design for now. ^^

  4. All of these towns are so amazing and beautiful. My personal favourite would have to be Scarlett. Just to let you know, I really enjoy reading your blog. I wish I could visit your town but unfortunately I’ve got this message popping up on my screen saying error and all of this other stuff. It’s so sad because every time I try and visit my friends town that happens. :`(

    • Thank you, I’m glad you like them! Scarlett is indeed super well-done and beautiful 🙂 And aww, I appreciate that very much, it makes me happy to hear that x3
Ohh, that error sounds like a bummer. When you say visit, do you mean the dream suite? Maybe some internet connection settings need adjusting, or something, I dunno. :/ I hope you can get it fixed eventually!

      • Yea. Oh and I meant just visiting towns not dream towns. I’m actually going to be restarting my town for a fresh start. 🙂 My town name is probably going to be Aprilia (it’s the best I could do.) I’ve actually been thinking of making my own Animal Crossing blog, but I have a feeling I won’t post much. I don’t even know! 😛 Oh and by the way, thank you for replying. It’s nice to see someone actually replying to comments. 🙂
        Good job Amy! ♡

        • Ohh okay, in that case, maybe we should add each other and give it a try sometime! My FC is 3222-6062-4806, what’s yours? 🙂
Aprilia is a pretty and unique name! It sounds like a lovely flowery spring town~
It’s up to you, but having an AC blog can be quite fun and a great way to document your town events & happenings so you can look back on them later!
Aw, you’re welcome! Sorry if I’m a little late replying ^^

  5. Anyone know where I could find the qr code for the Camp sign, and the Orchard in the photos shared above? Thanks for any help finding the qr code.
